François Jullien assumes the task of putting order in thought, rehabilitating controversial notions - such as universal (often confused with the imposition of European values and Western cultures to disadvantaged) - in order to address the roots of living a fruitful dialogue between cultures as far apart as those in Europe, the Far East (China, Japan) and Far West (Latin America).

François Jullien assume a tarefa de recolocar ordem no pensamento, reabilitando noções polémicas − como o universal (muitas vezes confundido com a imposição de valores europeus e ocidentais às culturas desfavorecidas) – a fim de sanar as raízes vivas de um diálogo frutífero entre culturas tão distantes quanto as da Europa, do Extremo Oriente (China, Japão) e do Extremo Ocidente (América Latina).
